ROBOTICS

Academic economist Paul Holmes recently published a paper about robot bridge on BBO entitled: Short-run participation effects of tournament success: the case of online bridge.
The report reflects over 330,000 decisions by online players of whether to play another tournament after just completing one. It found that players are generally more likely to continue playing when playing well but are less likely to continue to play when they win a tournament. Understanding the interplay of such effects is crucial in increasing participation in skill-based tournaments.
