THE ARCHERS

BBC Radio 4’s The Archers is thought to be the longest-running radio serial ever, still going strong after 74 years.
One of the characters, local farmer Brian Aldridge, now aged 81, is currently taking secret bridge lessons hoping to surprise his life partner Miranda. Brian is played by Charles Collingwood, his grandfather, Cuthbert “Bertie” Collingwood, having played for Great Britain in the 1933 European Championships.
