A constructive meeting took place at the Élysée Palace in Paris between Franck Riehm, President of the World Bridge Federation, and the Sport, Voluntary Sector and Youth Adviser William Elman of the National and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, Sport and Culture Unit.
In a political context marked by the National Great Cause 2025 for mental health, the “Ageing Well” law, and the educational emergency revealed by the 2024 TIMSS survey, bridge – and the French Bridge Federation in particular – has emerged as a key player in social cohesion, cognitive stimulation, and equal opportunity.
Once thought of merely as games, mind sports that complement physical
activity have now become powerful public-policy tools. Inclusion, educational performance, intergenerational transmission: their impact is concrete, measurable – and steadily growing.
