New Zealand journalist Annemarie Quill’s article entitled Sweet deal: is popular card game Bridge, the new Tinder? Appeared on the front page of New Zealand’s biggest news web site!
It revealed that Bridge is enjoying a revival as singles, tired of dating apps, are drawn to its social aspect, forming bonds, friendships and sometimes finding love.
New Zealand Bridge’s Mel Auld said she had witnessed friendships and seen “love blossom” over card tables and was not surprised the game is somewhere people are finding connections they can’t on dating apps.
