UP FOR THE CUP
The World Bridge Federation has announced a new global initiative, The E-Bridge Cup, created in collaboration with two of the world’s leading online bridge platforms, BBO and Funbridge.
It is aimed at everyone who plays bridge, from passionate club players to those who enjoy a casual game at home. Players of all levels will have the chance to compete globally in an online format, playing individually with and against robots, affording a unique and modern experience.
The E-Bridge Cup is a bold step into the future of bridge. With the format of Human vs Artificial Intelligence, it offers players a new kind of experience. It aligns perfectly with the potential inclusion of bridge in the Olympic ESports Games to be held by the IOC in 2027.
The organisers aim is to bring Bridge to every home, every screen, and every generation.
The qualification phase will be from 1-28 September 2025.
Those who advance will contest a semi-final and final with the winner taking home US$5000, with prizes going to the top 100 qualifiers.
Those who don’t qualify can continue their journey in the E-Cup2, which will also offer cash prizes, the winner receiving US$1000.
Full details, including the event format, entry fees and how to register can be found in the official presentation at:
