BRIDGE UNLEASHED: LEGENDS OF THE TABLE

Tracey Bauer has launched a new series of animated videos about some of the greatest names in bridge. She starts with one of the greatest women players of all time, Rixi Markus.

Rixi Markus was not just a champion. She was a survivor, a reinvention story, a fierce personality, and one of the defining players in bridge history. Born into a Jewish family in Bukovina, driven into exile by the Anschluss, and rebuilt in London, she went on to win five world titles, become the first woman World Grand Master, and spend years as the top-ranked woman in the WBF rankings. She also shaped the written history of the game through decades of journalism and books.
