HAIL TO THE CHIEF
He becomes the third Frenchman to preside over the WBF, following in the footsteps of Robert de Nexon and José Damiani.
The new President has already played a significant role in bridge administration at a national level, having served as first Vice President of the French Bridge Federation before becoming President of the FFB, most recently being re-elected in October 2024.

by Mark Horton
He has been instrumental in promoting the development of bridge in schools and under his presidency, the FFB launched the Petit Bridge program, a simplified and fun version for children aged 5 to 7 with the aim of improving the level of students in mathematics. As a result, each year, more than 6,000 students discover this discipline in their school.
Prior to his entry into the world of bridge, Franck distinguished himself in the restaurant industry. In 1999, he founded Flam’s, a chain of restaurants specialising in flammekueche, a traditional Alsatian dish, transforming a local product into a national success story. Today, Flam’s brand has more than 30 establishments in France and this figure continues to grow thanks to its well-established franchise model. In 2011 he launched a chain of gourmet burger restaurants, 231 East St.
His business experience, combined with his commitment to bridge, brings a valuable perspective to the role. He is particularly passionate about the development of bridge and the growth of the player base, key challenges for the coming years.
