CUP FEVER
This event returns this month with a brand new formula.
The qualifying stage runs until the end of May and consists of 124 tournaments of 12 deals. The ranking system will be based on the 10 best scores recorded by each player. The 55% mark will serve as the dividing line between the two categories that follow, the Open Category and the Challenger category.
The semifinals will take place between June 8 and July 5, with 200 players qualifying for the final stage in each category (125 from BBO and 75 from Funbridge).

by Mark Horton
The Challenger Final will be played online on July 25-26 while the Open Final will take place on August 18-19 during the World Bridge Series. In the Open series, the leading players (30 from BBO and 20 from Funbridge along with the top two finishers in the Challenger semifinal) will be invited to compete live in Katowice, Poland, the remainder playing online simultaneously. Those who qualify for the live event in Katowice will be playing for a top prize of $10,000! Three nights accommodation at the new **** Qubus Hotel in the heart of Katowice will be offered to players, along with $400 to international players and $250 to European players towards travel costs.
This innovative event is open to bridge lovers everywhere, from enthusiastic club players to those who enjoy a casual game at home. To play in a qualification event, simply log in on BBO and/or Funbridge and go to the events/special events page. There is a live leaderboard where you can check your position, the results being updated after every session.
National Bridge Organizations will receive a share of the revenue generated by the event, distributed in proportion to the number of players from each country who take part in the event!
