THE RACE FOR SETTING UP TRICKS AT NO-TRUMP [PART 2]
When you play your contract, you count your sure tricks and the number of tricks you are missing. But you must not overlook – especially when you are racing the defenders for who sets their tricks up first – to count the defenders’ tricks as well so that you know how many you might have to concede.

| W | N | E | S |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1♠ | 1NT |
Lead: ♠J. East wins with the Ace and returns the Queen, which you win with the King (West following with the 3).
